I have a lamp with a "stained-glass" bulb in it, and for what I want for a lighting affect it works well.I purchased this bulb to slightly change the appearance of this lamp.Upon receiving the new bulb, I installed it, and immediately was not pleased with the look, or brightness.1) A lot of light leaks out of the edges, which makes for a white halo around the edge, defeating the purpose of the stained-glass effect.2) The bulb is way brighter than expected. brighter than the original bulb, and it claims lower wattage.Oh well, failed experiment!

i like these for my bedroom when i dont want glaring light. i also used them for hallway .
