This float switch is used to control the water level in a sump. It sits between the primary and secondary pumps and connects to the Insteon I/O Linc. When the primary pump stops working and the secondary pump works, an alert will be sent via the Insteon app. I made a few of these for friends and during a recent rainstorm the float switch on one of the homeowner's primary pumps got stuck causing water to rise until the secondary pump activated. Higher water levels triggered this Insteon I/O Linc connected float, which sent an alert to the homeowner to check the pump. This float performed its intended function.
