Failed within 4 months

I have about 30 external drives. I've never seen a drive fail so quickly, but it certainly happens when you're working with that many drives. I love the form factor and feel of this drive, but reliability is my number one priority for any drive and this one failed completely and quickly. I suspect that the data is intact and that the corpus is bad. The power connector seems a bit sloppy even compared to my other G-Drive. The indicator lights up, but the disc does not rotate. We contacted the company for warranty support. And while their 5-year terms sound great, they require you to send them a disc with all the data on it. I can't erase the data from this drive (because it's broken) and I can't send it back to you with sensitive data (regardless of their assurance that they take care of the data, it's through a third party that none of us have the has control). This isn't the beginning. Asked them for help but they are terrible. Responses take at least 48 hours each time (I've been waiting for 7 days with no response). They refuse to send me a replacement unless I send them a disk with my data on it. They cannot offer a way to erase a dead drive and they will not honor the warranty if I physically damage the drive to ensure the data is unusable upon return. I understand that they would like to analyze the drive, but their first priority should be (1) replacing a drive that has failed in less than 4 months and (2) allowing me to protect my data (which is why I have a bought a backup drive). ) . first because it is important). I've bought about 40 hard drives in the last 10 years and I've never had a hard drive fail so quickly. I will definitely not be buying from G-Drive again. Unreliable quality and poor support if something goes wrong.
