After 3 months in the hot Hawaiian sun the first layer started to deteriorate. It's been owned for more than a year, the top coat continues to "snow flurries" of particles down the road, but the coating is still intact. I noticed that this "decomposition" seemed to accelerate when the lid was rolled up wet. I looked at the warranty information: the section for this model is "Protector IV". I am assuming it is a "Duro" model with a 5 year warranty. I will continue to watch it fall apart and see it's worth my time returning it for a replacement under warranty. This might work if you have an enclosed area that protects your car from direct sunlight, but if so, why would you even buy this item? I don't remember what the right size price was for my car, but at the time of purchase, the largest model was cheaper ($107.68). Since then, I've noticed that the price for a Camry-sized car is in the $70 range. If it cost 40β¬ it might be worth it. The lid ended up breaking when I tried to take it off (when it was wet). That was in September last year. So it took maybe 15 months. However, 12 of those months it was a big mess. I think if I could get free shipping both ways I would be willing to work on the warranty process. But I think I'll just downgrade this review to 1 star and call it "lesson learned".
