I bought this for my 2016 Mazda CX-5 to protect it from Hurricane Florence (Summer 2018). I did a great job protecting my car's metallic pearlescent trim from flying branches and other debris. It has a nice thickness. I bought and used extra elastic cords and clips to secure it. I was a bit disappointed that there were no more grommets (down to two!) for the elastic cords, but Budge's clip-on bungee and third-party bungee helped a lot. Budge car cover does not conform to the standard. The case was purchased new in 2017. The car that the cover protects sits in a closed garage 99% of the time. 1% of the time the vehicle is outdoors in direct sunlight, but without rain or disruptive weather. After 3 months in the hot Hawaiian sun the first layer started to deteriorate. It's been owned for more than a year, the top coat continues to "snow flurries" of particles down the road, but the coating is still intact. I noticed that this "decomposition" seemed to accelerate when the lid was rolled up wet. I looked at the warranty information: the section for this model is "Protector IV". This car cover seems strong enough and with practice and two people you can roll it up far enough to put back in your pocket. It's easier to install with two people, but one person can do it. I thought about giving it four stars but decided to give it three because the fit on the Ford Fusion could have been better and I had to cut off a piece to allow the antenna to protrude over the rear window.
