Review on πŸ”§ Oneida Molded Dust Deputy Kit: Superior Separator with Two Durable Buckets by Jaye Cleveland

If you want a helper to do a good job, you have to suck hard.

First I want to quickly add my reiteration of what others seem to be saying - the tool itself works very well and the rest of the kit doesn't really offer enough value to justify the extra cost in comparison to a mere instrument. I noticed a few things though, have used them in other workshops and now finally have one of my own. First of all, I would strongly advise all users to just assume that your lid isn't strong enough, whether you use your own bucket lid or the one that comes with the kit. I like these because it's a bit easier to put on and take off compared to a regular cap and I love that it doesn't have a huge rim all around it like a cap made for heavy liquids, but it doesn't seem to to work a little better. Do yourself a favor and put a wide shim of plywood between the lid and cyclone to keep the lid from sagging (and/or cracking, as I've used in the past) over time. Make the disk large - as close in diameter as possible to the diameter of the lid. (And of course don't do what I've seen others do - don't put it under a lid, it won't help you there.) High CFM and static pressure. The higher the performance of your industrial vacuum cleaner and the lower the overall flow restriction in your hoses, the more speed you can achieve in the cone and the more fine dust you won't get into your vacuum cleaner. I recently had the opportunity to purchase my Dust Deputer at the same time as a brand new 6.5hp vacuum. an opportunity to see the vacuum cleaner in action as it has never been used without a dust replacement attached. I've used it a few times and the interior of the vacuum cleaner is still pretty much intact. It still has the shine of the brand new plastic inside and the filter shows no fading or other signs of wear despite all the fine dust in the Dust Vice bucket. I'm sure there's some dust in the vacuum at the moment, but I'd say over 99 percent ends up in the bin. In my experience so far, you won't get the same efficiency if you use it with a less powerful vacuum.

Pros

Cons
