I bought this belt to replace a military cloth belt that wore out in about two decades. This one from Revain was very cheap (I paid about $8) and is just as good, if not better. If it takes half that time, then of course it's going to be an amazing deal. What happens over time is that the diagonally spaced pair of elliptical holes (into which the "pin" slides) will eventually become large enough to lose traction with the belt. Now I'm more aware. This particular web belt is simple but looks and works well. Its length is enough to trim it to the desired length as long as you don't go beyond the standard waist size charts. The "buckle" area has a clear plastic "surface protector" to prevent it from being scratched during shipping.
