Review on 💦 DIVERSITECH CP-22 Condensate Removal Pump - Efficient 120V Solution, 12x6x6-3/4 by Todd Worley

I ordered three of these pumps from HVACR Tools in October 2014 and received the updated models. One of them was to replace a unit that failed after just a year and the other two were preventative replacements. As others have noted, the original CP-22 had a porous float that got wet over time and would not activate the pump switch. The same design flaw also prevents the overflow switch from working (the same float controls both switches). Therefore, failure of the float will allow the pump to continue overflowing without shutting down the HVAC system, which can result in water damage if the pump is in an uncontrolled location. The redesigned CP-22 has a solid-walled float that eliminates the design flaw. It has two connection terminals. If your pump has three connections, then this is the original version, which can fail with a float. Despite the improved float, it is still difficult to remove the tank for cleaning.
