Review on 💧 Efficient BURCAM 300514WHZ 1/3 HP Laundry Tub Pump - Automatic & Reliable, Black by Paul Walton

I bought this laundry tub pump in my basement. Installation went well until I was ready to test the pump. The instructions that came with the pump said to fill the tub/sink with water about 1-4 inches, then plug the pump into an outlet, then open the drain and listen for the pump to start. The pump I installed immediately started pumping water to the floor under the sink. The pump manufacturer includes a full page inviting the buyer to call them with installation questions. I called and told them my pump was leaking badly. They suggested that the check valve might not be positioned correctly and that I should send pictures of my setup. While waiting for their reply, I decided to open the impeller case to inspect the impeller and noticed that the entire case and impeller had cracks. picture included. The loose part (in the form of a ring) in the picture was bolted to the upper half of the fuselage and showed no signs of breakage on reassembly. I contacted the manufacturer with a picture of the broken impeller (obviously covered under warranty). This is not covered by the warranty. It should be, but it isn't. Luckily, Revain processed the return promptly and sent out a replacement unit (which will be disassembled for inspection prior to installation). I've attached a screenshot of the email conversation with the supplier to see the interaction. If I hadn't had a deadline for this job I would have asked for a full refund and gone to another pump manufacturer. Most pumps of this type are identical, so I'm willing to take the risk of completing this work later if the replacement pump is also defective. A NOTICE. Although this was not the cause of my problem. , the check valve was not installed in the right place as shown in the picture the manufacturer sent me. According to their drawing, the check valve should not be installed above the bottom of the sink. Mine was about 3 feet above this point.
