This cable attaches to the spool. The cable did not fit the existing spool in my dishwasher. Please note that Bosch made changes to the assembly at some point after we bought our dishwasher, but I didn't discover this until trying to install this cable. The cable itself may or may not fit your model; The Bosch customer service rep we spoke to wasn't even aware of this change, so I don't know how to find out about your specific model other than researching like me. I figured this out by looking at the parts diagram and found a YouTube video showing the new coil. Eventually they changed the design of the coil. My dishwasher is SHX65T55UC. It's a real shame I wasted so many hours on such a simple thing. A broken cable holding the door open is a common problem with these dishwashers, so Bosch likely changed the design. Our department has been registered and we have received an email address; Bosch should have emailed all registered owners when they changed a part!
