Great replacement for a branded product at 1/10th the price

I bought this timer to replace the battery cover on my Nikon MC-36 which I lost in the field. I bought an MC-36 for $150 years ago and it still sells for the same price. This block here is 1/10 the cost and does the same thing but better. (and yes, the battery cover fits the MC36!). Same functionality with slight differences:* Nikon's red LED blinks dimly, Never's LED stays on and shines 3-5 times brighter. While I would have preferred a blinking light (action means something is happening), a brighter light makes it easier to find in the dark (I mostly shoot at night)* Nikon's interval is unintuitive and cumbersome to set up. If you want to capture star trails with a shutter speed of, say, 2 minutes, the "interval" should be set to 2:01. It's counterintuitive, "interval" should be the time between ("between"!) shots, and that's exactly what Never does: you can leave it at the default of 00:00:01 and you're done, the only thing you have to do Change is (in my case) the exposure time. By the way, a 1 star review complains about that. The instruction manual may say otherwise, but it does what it's supposed to do. darkness and need to be done so quickly between shots!)* While what comes out of the Nikon remote takes a bit of getting used to, this one actually remembers where you last edited. If you set the exposure time to minutes (long), re-editing will reset it back to minutes. Nikon definitely starts at the far left. And for anyone complaining that it doesn't have an on/off switch, it doesn't need to be turned off as it doesn't really use power, the batteries last forever, I change it out once a year or so and use it all the time. There are wireless remote controls that go into sleep mode about every minute and need to "wake up” after each shot. Very annoying when you have to change settings frequently. If you still insist on removing the batteries, send me the battery cover! This remote control works with D4, D700 and D200 (tested). Durability will show over time but I haven't seen any reviews complaining about it. Shoot never and keep a Nikon as a backup (still without the battery cover).
