When the power goes out and our child's monitor runs out with it, it helps us to check if he's ok. Birds, and when the power goes out/dark they instinctively panic and fly everywhere. This light helps them return to safety. We also have a corgi (shepherd dog) that can be tripped over if not seen. This light helps us see where it is, especially when walking up and down stairs. If the power goes out completely, these lights will stay on and they will provide essentially the only light in our entire home. Very convenient, can be used as a flashlight/flash. They have come in handy more than once. We have three, one on each floor (including the basement) for emergencies. I honestly can't imagine how difficult it would be to do without her.
