This Lazy Susan consists of two identical thick plastic circles connected back to back with something (ball bearing?) that allows them to rotate. There is a small gap between the circles. It's not clear if they snap or stick together. There's no obvious way to analyze it, but there's certainly no reason why you should. There is no "lip" on the plastic circles, which allows me to layer some paint overhanging the edges. This may or may not be a good feature for you. The upper is structured with mesh to keep things in place. I won't put anything heavy on it, but it's strong enough to withstand quite a bit. A good product. came quickly does what i need
