Review on Winegard FreeVision FV-30BB - Indoor/Outdoor Digital HDTV Antenna (4K Ultra-HD & ATSC 3.0 Ready) - 30 Mile Range High Performance HD TV Antenna by Paul Walters

Receives signals that other antennas have trouble with.

There is a large building in front of our house blocking our signal path to the TV tower. I've tried all types of antennas to receive OTA signals. Even the boosted antennas didn't work very well. Because when there is no signal to amplify, all that is left is noise. When TV signals were analog, we got SOMETHING. Even if it's a terrible picture. When analog signals disappeared, HD signals weren't very good. They were constantly being cropped or pixelated. The picture freezes or the screen goes black. Watching the OTA signals was very uncomfortable. In fact, it was impossible to watch! This antenna seems to work very well. It was pretty easy to put together. The instructions include diagrams to guide you through the process. It includes a balun or transformer so you can use 75 ohm CATV coaxial cable. I used 100 foot coax cable to connect the antenna to our HDTV. I put the antenna in a bush in front of our house so nobody can see it. We're getting a decent signal. Our television's signal indicator measures between 65% and 89%. Rain does not affect reception. The antenna got wet from the rain, covered in ice and snow and still works as it should. This is an indoor/outdoor antenna. That's slightly more than most indoor antennas. It does not include an amplifier. The kit includes parts for mounting on a pole. It also has holes so you can nail it to the wall. The mounting options are quite flexible. You just have to point it in the right direction to optimize signal reception. We'll have to see how it holds up in the elements. And the bush where I hid it. He seems to be durable. I think it should take quite a long time. When TabloTV releases a new version of their quad-tuner OTA DVR, I will attach an antenna to it. This antenna costs a little more than other indoor antennas. However, it does a job that other antennas could not. It also has the best build quality and is made in the USA. So the extra cost is worth it. I highly recommend it!
