So good I had to buy another one for my other TV!

I just bought a second one after receiving the first one 2 days ago and the installation was easy but the most important thing is this TV gets a lot more HD channels from my living room which is in the Located in the middle of the house, away from the window, while another brand of "upgraded" paper-thick antenna could only pick up 2 TVs from my bedroom, where the antenna is installed next to the window. This unit has no problem finding HD channels and I'm sure I'll catch more if I try a higher…

Best of 6 antennas I've tried

This antenna exceeded my expectations. Although I tried 6 different antennas (amplified, unamplified, flat, non-flat), this one picked up the most channels. It didn't require electricity, which was especially useful since I had it installed in the attic, ie nice electrical connection. In my case, the attic setup was key as the placement on the second floor of the house took about 40 channels and the attic setup took about 60 channels - the standout, given the antenna, said I should get about…

Works better than my old active antenna

I'm not sure if my active antenna was "broken" but the picture quality continued to deteriorate and I started missing channels. So I went looking for something else like what I had, just didn't do it. It takes about a minute to "assemble" which is basically just opening the "wings" and locking them into place. Then plug it in and see what happens. I have better picture quality, stronger signal and more channels. It was "in there too" but it comes with a bracket to fit my old satellite dish…

Works great near the subway

I use this in Arlington, VA. I was on a direct line with DC and Baltimore; There are a large number of transmitters within a 25 degree cone of my house. If it points this way, I get 70 channels. I get Fox, CBS and CW from DC and Baltimore. I replaced a directional antenna which didn't give me good reception on some DC channels (about 7 miles). Almost everything is perfect with this guy. For some reason, NBC is blurry at times even though it's more or less physically in the same place as the…

Great antenna of this size that works indoors

I needed to get VHF/UHF stations no more than 25 miles apart but in different directions, some to the west, some to the northwest. I mounted this antenna upside down from the ceiling and aligned it between the desired transmitters. It receives a strong signal from all stations. If you can't do this job indoors, outdoor mounting on an accessible mounting tube will help. Remember that UHF stations are very directional so make sure you find out where the transmitters are before aiming. There are…

Tried several antennas. high directional antennas, medium directional antennas, multi-directional dish antennas, etc. This little guy might be the best. I'm just shocked at how well it works for me. I used to think bigger and uglier yagi antennas were the only option. And for some they are, but not for all of us. I'm about 30 miles from most of my towers. Many trees. I get 30-35 channels depending on how I rotate it and what height I put it at. A quick guide to antennas - outside is almost…

All installations are not similar

My problem is that all local VHF stations have a strong signal and two VHF stations are physically weaker channel 8 and 10 with 10 being on the limit. The VHF stations are about 20 miles away, but there are hills between my antenna and the radio towers. UHF and VHF stations are about 45 degrees apart. I took a second Winegard FreeVision and installed both with the VHF/UHF Antennas Direct antenna combiner, resulting in one antenna getting UHF only and the other only VHF. See photo. There is one…

Receives signals that other antennas have trouble with.

There is a large building in front of our house blocking our signal path to the TV tower. I've tried all types of antennas to receive OTA signals. Even the boosted antennas didn't work very well. Because when there is no signal to amplify, all that is left is noise. When TV signals were analog, we got SOMETHING. Even if it's a terrible picture. When analog signals disappeared, HD signals weren't very good. They were constantly being cropped or pixelated. The picture freezes or the screen goes…

- Generally a good antenna - installation could be a bit easier.

- Firstly, I install several outdoor TV antennas every year, so I have a lot of experience with antennas and cables. I wanted to try this model as I'm always looking for small, powerful antennas to install and recommend. This one costs under $40 with free shipping, great deal. It was pretty easy to put together. It comes with 1 U-bolt for attachment, I would recommend using 2. The antenna is very light, but it is better to stabilize it with top and bottom clamps. Speaking of the U-bolt and…
