Review on Bosch Automotive 6055C High Efficiency Cabin Air Filter for Dodge Durango (2011-2019) & Jeep Grand Cherokee (2011-2019) by John Surabhi

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Breathing relief, original HEPA filter

According to two different air knives, this filters out PM2.5 micron pollution particles. The air in my car contained significantly less particulate matter than the air outside. This is a relief on days when there is a lot of wood smoke or forest fire smoke in the air. I tested it on a day when the outside air PM2.5 micron reading was around 40 (disgusting). Inside, PM2.5 fluctuated between 5 and 6. Of course, this filter won't filter air entering the cabin through an open door or window (unless you set it to recirculate, perhaps). My old standard cabin filter did nothing to reduce pollution. I installed it on a relatively clean air day. I immediately noticed that the air coming through the car's vents was odorless. The cabin filter was changed about 10,000 years ago. They recommend changing it every 12,000 miles. I didn't realize how dusty my old filter smelled until I changed it. I wish I could give 4.5 stars as the build quality of the filter seems weak. For around $20, I should be glad it works as advertised.
