Very small, not suitable for emergency evacuation

This stretcher appears to be very well made and I love the colour. But even with the dimensions given in the listing, it wasn't until I tried to upload the cat that I realized it was too small. My cats cannot sit up straight in this carrier. Since it's just for portability, it doesn't matter, except for one thing: getting you to lie down so you can zip up. Only one cat went to bed without persuasion; others have refused, and since the carrier is very small, it is difficult to load them and safely close the hatch. One long side and one end has no net. It's good. This gives the cats a sense of security when not exposed by windows that expose them. It can really help put them at ease when traveling. But there's a big problem with that. The mesh end has no structure. It's like the end of a gym bag. When you loosen the door, the entire unfastened portion collapses, removing the structure, making it almost impossible to boot a cat. Therefore, you must use the other non-mesh end. But the structure that forms the supporting element is sewn into the door at this end. You end up with the same problem. Neither end of this carrier can be used to load a cat. It's not easy and it's not safe. The zippers seem strong, but sometimes they wobble or catch on curved spots when closing. And the only security mechanism preventing them from opening is the long strap that prevents you from completely closing one end of the strap. It's just on the other end and doesn't do anything for security. None of the zippers snap. You need to tie them with a zipper or use a rope. An aggressive or frightened cat can grab it and unzip it. While I find this stretcher handy for air travel, getting a cat on a plane isn't easy, and if you're buying one for emergency evacuation, don't. Unless you have a very obedient cat who won't panic in a scary emergency situation and won't care for a very small carrier, this isn't the best choice. sorry to say All pet carriers must be designed for evacuation and security.
