I expected more from PanaVise. I have been using their products for many years and have always been satisfied. I used the model 201 on my desk to store small circuit boards. But recently I found myself soldering a board that didn't fit in his jaws, so I ordered it as an upgrade. I had no problems assembling it. There are several problems with this. Worst of all, the quick releases don't hold the jaws on the crossbar very well and can slip off, causing the workpiece to fall. Also, the jaws aren't really perpendicular to the bar, but rather flare out towards the ends. The last question doesn't matter when the workpiece is in the groove of the metal jaws, but when you use the supplied silicone parts to hold panels with protruding components, this becomes a problem. Speaking of those little silicone things. They can be unscrewed and are basically useless. The bottom line is that the thing doesn't do what it's supposed to do: hold circuit boards. The full size 300 series PCB holder looks much sturdier, but I have limited workspace and don't need it. something that big. In the meantime, I'm going back to the $10 grill-style circuit board holder I used before I got my junior. This goes back to Revain.
