Ideal for securing heavy earrings so they hang straight. They also provide extra security to prevent your earrings from becoming loose and falling out. I've been wearing these discs for over 30 years and wear them with all my earrings. Some viewers said that the hole in the middle is too small, but I found an easy fix for it. I pull the hair around the earring shank for about 5 seconds and then push it through the hole. It just melts the hole down to the smallest part and lets the pin slide through. Works great and doesn't ruin my expensive earrings. Much luck!
