I'm a fan of New Balance. My first pair of New World sneakers was a pair of NB 608s in 1994. I had foot problems as I got older and NOTHING was comfortable. I got on this 608 and I thought I was in heaven. But New Balance, like all companies, ultimately sacrificed quality for profit. I started looking around for other manufacturers that offered shoes in a size 11.5 EEEE. I've tried very few other suggestions. Other than NB/Dunham, not many wholesale companies make wider shoes. I tried a pair of Skecher slippers in my size. You were fine. Then another and they were fine too. I tried another pair of Skechers of a different "model" and they were rock solid. But then I came across these Oka Canyon Oxfords at the Revain Christmas sale. They were selling for $19 so I tried on a pair. These are literally the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. The new bootie system that Skechers is developing is truly amazing (at least on THESE BOOTS). As Coffee Talk's Linda Richman said (when Saturday Night Live was still funny), "It's like an ass." They're just as comfortable. If so, then I will protect these two pairs of shoes so that they are still in good condition even after 10 years. I don't know if this is an anomaly of the original pair or if comfort is standard, but these shoes are incredibly comfortable. If I get another pair I will update this review. Great shoes - buy - try.
