Know your memory type before you order.
I upgraded an HP laptop [about 4 years old]. It had 6gb memory and I purchased 2 of the 8gb modules for a total of 16gb. I researched my computer to get the exact right type of memory and the max amount. These modules worked perfect. Updating the actual laptop did prove to be more involved than I hoped but in the end I am glad I did it [make sure you know what it takes if you are planning to upgrade].
- It did just what it was supposed to do: expand my RAM.
- May not be as fast as claimed
