I have had this item for two months now. I literally wore it almost every day for two months. I've worn it to the gym, showered, swum, I've worn it to work (where I wear boots and sweat). Everywhere, everywhere, everywhere. I only took it off when it didn't match my outfit that day/night. It's just starting to turn a little green on my ankle (which I noticed after a sweaty yoga class). Most of the gilding is chipped or scratched, although I don't think anyone would be able to tell unless they really try to bend over and examine it. I would buy it again because it's so cheap and considering it took two months of constant wear and tear to finally expose the cheaper metal. I'm sure if I had taken proper care not to wear it in the shower or to the gym and to work it would have lasted much longer. I had no problems with the shutter, very reliable. Don't break easily. My only real problem would be accidentally snagging my clothes on an elephant's trunk.
