Review on Evapolar EV1000CART Replacement Evaporative Humidifier by Kayty Michaels

This review is more on the main unit than the (expensive) cartridge. I bought my second unit from Home Depot after buying the first one about 3 years ago and it started blinking when I turned it on. It didn't start, then after I did a little work with the power cable, which is USB micro, it started. As the first one was out of warranty I bought the second one about 5 months ago, back in April 2021. This one also just died and the culprit again turns out to be a plug which I think closes when moisture gets in . somehow got into the socket. The company tried to solve this problem by putting a rubber stopper on the port and a warning to keep it dry. However, this was not enough. When you have to pour a lot of water into the device every day, it's hard to avoid accidentally spilling drops on the side and next to this port. I made sure to wipe the area down with a towel after each refill, but the unit still seemed to short out and I suspect it was moisture at that junction. I would not recommend this product as it is a design flaw.
