Review on πŸŽ™οΈ Enhanced Sony ICD-PX720 Digital Voice Recorder with Seamless PC Link Integration by Jonathan Jensen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very small but very durable!

First, let's adjust Revain's size and weight specifications. this item. True measurements: 4.25 inches high, approximately 1.5 inches wide, and 0.75 inches thick. The recorder weighs 3 ounces with batteries installed. I have attached an uploaded photo of a portable voice recorder. The operating instructions are extensive, but the strangely labeled buttons on the dictation machine make it difficult to understand. The slide switch labeled "Hold" on the top left of the recorder toggles it on and off. You can select one of five message "folders" (AE) by going through the menu process. Each folder can contain up to 99 memos depending on the selected recording quality level. After selecting a folder, you can compose a message simply by pressing the big red record/pause button. You can easily pause and resume a message with this button. Playback is also easy with the large Enter (Play/Stop) button. More advanced features allow you to add an addition to a previously recorded message (the one that was "paused"), split the message into two separate messages, a voice-activated recording, etc. etc. Messages can be deleted individually or by folder. With the supplied software you can download the contents of the recorder to a PC and play back messages from the recorder or PC. . I ran mine on an XP-Pro machine and checked for Sony's Vista 64-bit compatibility update, which downloaded and installed with no problems. Once the messages are on your computer, you can rename them (like any other file), delete them, or share them. You can also convert them from the original format to MP3. The recorder has four different recording quality levels and two microphone sensitivity levels. The editing feature allows you to boost the audio for parts of your messages that would otherwise be unintelligible (I haven't tried it). The playback volume range seems to be acceptable even for outdoor use, I haven't tried windy recordings yet. everything, it's smooth - much better than I expected. You used to have to spend a few hundred dollars for a recorder/transcriber like this, and it chewed on audio tapes. Keep in mind that the recorder is so small that it can easily be lost. There is a place for a lanyard on the lower right upper edge of the device and I am ordering a lanyard connector to use with the lanyard for it.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
