It was installed/removed as needed on the front bumper of a 50" ATV for night riding using the supplied magnetic base and also taped a coiled power cord which lightweight and extends across the front deck, under half of the windshield to the 12V cigarette lighter socket. The on/off switch is located on the plug connector, making it very easy to turn on and off while driving. The light stayed in place through 200 miles of nighttime quad biking without incident and exceeded expectations in trail lighting, with the actual headlights appearing dim and amber. It's essential for night driving and is the perfect size and brightness. not permanently installed and transported in a pickup truck along with a 10ft 12v cigarette lighter extension cord. Highly recommended to use for any nighttime use - car emergency, chopping wood, camping, tricycle hookup, mowing, snow removal, etc. - within range of a 12 volt lighter. The huge cooling fins made me worry it would get hot, but it feels cool. A very good buy. (One caveat: the carrying handle, not the magnetic base, was warped in the cast aluminum and broke when I overloaded it when trying to straighten it.)
