Makes hair static

for a day so that's kind of a first impression. First off, it says it has a 15 second warm up time, which I think means that 15 seconds after you turn it on it will beep and reach your desired temperature. I set it to 380 degrees and it took 5 minutes to warm up. And that's after he's closed. I tried again a few hours later by unplugging and letting it cool and the same thing happened. I had to test it and turn it on a second time, then wait about 5 minutes for it to beep/reach 380 degrees (which is a lot longer than 15 seconds and longer than I'm used to from my Paul Mitchell straightener). I noticed a few bumps on the ceramic plates that look like metal, leading me to believe the plates are ceramic coated metal and not all ceramic. I don't really care, but it might have something to do with my number one complaint: this flat iron makes my hair full of STATIC! I have products I can use to help with this, but I've never had this problem with my Paul Mitchell straightener. I really like the looks and features of this straightener, but between the auto shut off 2 minutes after turning it on and the very high level of static in my hair, I'm just not impressed. It straightens my hair well and I love the curls I can get with it. For the price it's not that bad but it just didn't live up to the reviews I read. I bought this because I wanted the 1 inch straightener to curl/wave and it does it very well, but when I straighten my hair with it it becomes static which also tends to look damaged.
