If the pump works but there is no siphon, prime it!

Brought in anticipation of buying a new refrigerator. It took me a while to find what I wanted and get it, so my pump sat in the box for a while. Let's get to this week. The pump has only been running for four months. I changed my water bottles and the pump works but doesn't suck up the bottled water. Before that it worked perfectly. I don't see who to turn to for help. I followed the instructions in the book and added a storage tank to keep the pump from running too often and that seems to have helped. I am disappointed and will have to buy another pump soon. updated 04/30/21. I was concerned the pump was working but not sucking. I knew there had to be a simple solution. Yes, I went to Google and Youtube. I couldn't find any information on this pump, but I had an idea that this pump might just need a primer. I disconnected the water line from the pump that goes to the fridge. Then I turned on the pump and it started pumping water out of my 5 gallon bottles. Prepare something to catch water from the pump when you do this. I didn't expect it to actually work and I missed my cup. Once full, turn off the pump and reconnect the water supply to the pump. If you also installed a hydraulic accumulator, check the pressure, turn the pump on again. You have to be ready to go. 4 months or more ;-)
