I used these to trim the top laminated surface of a new worktop. I used a "regular" 3 tooth carbide cutter with a bearing to trim the front and sides because I didn't want the edges to be cut at the 7° angle this cutter makes. However, for trimming the top, it worked great in a pass that was moving fairly quickly. As others have pointed out, you probably do NOT want to move too slowly or you could burn the work where it rubs against the other's face. Some people use soap to help but I don't see a problem.
