I love this thermos. It's beautiful and goes really well with my vintage road bike. It'll still make a great accessory for your bike or bag (or outfit) as long as you pay attention to a few things (1) and treat it well. The lower part is made of fairly soft aluminium, which can be dented in a fall. (2) Do not pour boiling water into this thermos. The lid is not insulated and could burn you. That doesn't mean hot liquids can't be placed there. Just not boiling water. I've noticed that even after pouring a very hot liquid in, the lid is only hot when the bottle is full. After you have had a drink or after 10-15 minutes, the lid cools down to a pleasantly warm temperature that you can touch. (3) Use cutting oil, beeswax, walnut oil or mineral oil to treat the bamboo cap. Otherwise the bamboo will dry out after a few washes. Enjoy!
