The coat looks good when you get it, but the velcro is a weak link. The coat fits my dog well - it's not tight, it fits how you want it. Got a large for a 50# Schnauzer and it's almost perfect. About every one to two quarters of a year I have to close the front Velcro again. I will sew onto a stronger velcro so it will hold better. I tried to just leave it open, but then the fur slowly swirled around the dog. I bought a coat from Kuoser for my pup - it has a much better velcro closure but has flannel on one side and black nylon on the other. As a result, it's not as waterproof on the more visible side, and winters here in the Pacific Northwest are dark and rainy. If you are in a drier place, choose Quoser.
