The alarm function is all I wanted from this alarm clock, it connected directly to my battery with a black and red cable and the alarm clock worked fine. One thing I had trouble with was turning off the alarm when I needed it too. After a while he would either arm himself, or if I moved the bike he would arm himself. After playing around with it, I figured out how to turn it off. Turning it off completely so it doesn't turn on while driving (which I obviously wanted). To do this, disable the alarm, wait a second, then press the disable button twice and the alarm should be completely disabled. Then when you're ready to turn the alarm back on, simply press the arm button and you're done. Hope that helps.
