So does the job the Dyson was supposed to do with the V8 Animal and is vacuum powered. IMPORTANT - it will not fit and will not work without an adapter which must be purchased separately! Yes, crazy right? Overall it works well on hard floors and is a great dust collector. As others have said, it doesn't pick up small pebbles like a safety pin or bits - I detach and use solid tubing for this. Can't imagine on carpet walkways, but good for hard floors. Animal hair also gets caught in the bristles and can only be removed by hand. With two Aussies that means 2-3 times per bet. Probably the price we pay for nice long coats. It rotates in different directions to get to small or crowded places. Overall I'm grateful that an aftermarket unit was found to do the job, otherwise using an expensive vacuum would be at great risk.
