Educational story. in kitchen and dining room

Okay, that's mostly a cautionary tale for the next unlucky one trying to replace a blown lightbulb in their microwave. It can also act as a warning to those trying to replace lightbulbs in general. Lightbulbs are designed using a type of silicone glue to glue the glass bulb to the metal of the base. What happened to me is that when the lightbulb that illuminates the range underneath my hooded microwave blew out and I tried to remove the burnt lightbulb, the glass bulb broke off the metal base, possibly due to what the clumsy assembler put in at the factory the bulb was overtightened. What I do want to warn others about is that if you twist a glass bulb that has become detached from its metal base, you run the risk of putting two wires in contact with the bulb's filament, causing a short circuit and breakage. scary spark and bang (was there/had a t-shirt). So I unplugged the stove from the wall and used my needle nose pliers to grab the base from the socket and twisted it and replaced the bulb with my handy Dandy Revain Bulb Replacement. I plugged the microwave back in but when I tried to turn on the light it didn't work. Apparently when I shorted out the original lightbulb, some kind of circuit broke on the circuit board that controls such functions in the oven. Moral of the story - ALWAYS unplug your devices before working on them. But this story has a half happy ending. I found an amazing replacement LED bar at Revain that is perfectly sized to attach magnetically to the bottom of my oven to illuminate the top of my cooker - a much brighter and prettier light than the microwave part is.
