I needed a hole saw to drill a hole in the table and attach the grommets. A trip to the hardware store gave me sticker shock. Buying everything I need to drill holes would cost me almost $30. This set, which includes more than one size hole cutter and various other accessories, costs a little more. The set includes 12 cutters, a shaft extension, two hex keys, three drills, a spring and a pair of mandrels. All this comes in a nice plastic case with a foam rubber insert with cut outs to store all the parts. One thing I wasn't expecting in this set is that it uses hex drill shanks designed for a half inch chuck. The Amazon listing does not show the shaft width. Your standard 3/8-inch drill chuck (for those of you who aren't up to date, a drill chuck is an adjustable drill bit that you insert drill bits into), common in most basic household and rechargeable drills, is too small. I'm a bit embarrassed. I am not a contractor or carpenter. I use these things occasionally, not regularly, which is why I don't have a drill with a half-inch chuck. If you're like me you'll also need a drill chuck adapter to use them. The quality of this set is very good. These saws are rough cutting blades and are good for cutting wood and PVC, but not for fine sanding. They are made of steel and should hold up well to regular use. Result. This is a good sentence. Constructed of steel and supplied with a nice $40 carrying case (at the time of review), this set won't break the bank and is a useful addition to the handyman's tool arsenal to use from time to time.
