Review on ๐Ÿ’ช Corsair CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9 Vengeance 12GB DDR3 1600 MHz Desktop Memory โ€“ Reliable Performance for Enhanced Computing by Marc Cahoon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It works fine for me but I've had a hard time choosing the right part due to all the marketing hype

They fit me. It would be nice if Corsair would post a selection guide and/or more detailed product descriptions on their website to help you choose which product family (Platinum, Vengeance, Vengeance LP, Vengeance Pro, or Mainstream) is best for that application. Marketing buzzwords like "fast", "high performance" and "extreme performance" aren't very helpful and that's why I may have bought more expensive memory than I really need. Yes, I understand something about overclocking, but wouldn't it be better to just list the part in terms of the maximum clock speed tested, rather than saying it's the 1800MHz part that's designed for overclocking? What does that mean? With what cycle frequency was the batch of parts checked?

Pros
  • Speed: 1600MHz
Cons
  • Approximately
