I've been dieting lately and tracking calories on a food scale. When I saw this portable device I thought it would be great for keeping track of my food on the go. The scale is easy to use and quite attractive. The lid doesn't snap so I carry it in the box it came in to keep it closed. The batteries were wrapped in plastic so it wouldn't start until I found out - no big deal, it's actually better for the batteries. To weigh food it closes the display and I can't see how much my food weighs. There is a tare function to zero a scale with a container on it so you can only weigh what you want to measure and I can make it work. I find these scales useful, but had to deduct a star for the difficulty in reading the scale. This scale may be better suited for measuring rare metals (gold, jewelry) or herbs. It's too small to see a scale with a plate or bowl on it.
