I've spent a lot of time researching the different types of cat food and the cost of each one. I have an adult cat that I consistently feed Indoor Wellness Core Adult food and formulas. I recently had a kitten so instead of trying to separate them, I switched my adult cat (almost 2 years old) back to kitten food so he and the kitten would have no trouble feeding separately. Let me tell you that they both had a rather bumpy transition to a new diet with quite a bit of diarrhea/loose faeces that were incredibly foul smelling, although the transition was completed within a few weeks. It's been 3 months since they both only ate this kitten food and now their poo is back to normal but they still smell VERY bad. I've never had a problem with my older cat's stink and I'm hoping the higher fat and protein content of this kitten version compared to the adult version has something to do with it. We stuck with this formula because although they stink it is a high quality food we knew we wouldn't be using forever, they both love it and they have lots of physical energy and their coat looks nice and healthy . All in all we plan to switch her to an adult wellness formula in the coming months and hope this will reduce the smelly poo!
