I have a bearded dragon and have had it for a little over a year. I used the felt liner that came with the terrarium, which does the job well, but I wanted something more natural. There is much controversy about adding loose substrate to a bearded dragon enclosure as most of them have the potential to crush the dragon. After careful research I came across a very detailed article on bearded dragon subtraction and this product was highly recommended to me. My bearded dragon has had it in her terrarium for over a month now and she seems very happy. This sparked her natural digging instinct and I love that she can be busy in her enclosure. There's no sign of her trying to swallow the little chips. I removed the felt rug first but found that my beard slips and slides across the glass as it digs. I replaced the carpet and filled his body with more chips and now he's perfect. I highly recommend this product. Cleans up easily with a small spoon after it's done its job. No smell, and I don't mind a few shavings falling out when I go after her. In the end, it's about the health and happiness of the pets, not my convenience.
