Review on Turquoise Silicone Hot Handle Holder 2-Pack by Crucible Cookware by Nate Skinner

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It works but there are problems, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!

Read the warning when you get it. It's more detailed but basically you can't expose the holder to the heat from outside because it reflects it or something. The surface of the inside of the potholder (the part that touches the metal) heats up and protects you from hot metal, but if the outside of the potholder (the part you hold) is too close to a flame or hot burner, or if it's in a hot oven it will also reflect heat from the outside surface (if you pick it up, or it will get hot like SH$&@$?:&$)&!:!?&T and burn the hell out of you). This is explicitly stated in the instructions, but I can't remember reading that in the product description. I think that means you always have to take it off when it's on the stove so it doesn't get too hot outside, which is hasty and can be dangerous. That's why I'm only giving it 3 stars. This works best when you just want to take the finished pan off the heat for good. It's okay to take the pan from stovetop to countertop or sink and back again once or twice. It's tedious for any type of cooking that involves a lot of turning the stove and/or oven and oven on and off if that makes sense.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Hard to remember, but it was
