Man. If you own a truck and hate it when the tailgate slams shut, get this thing. It's that easy to install. Follow the instructions. Feels solid and looks like a factory part. Using my cordless impact wrench, 50 socket, 10mm long and 5mm hex made the installation easy. You will also need a very small screwdriver to pry open the clamps on the post so you can slide them over the balls more easily. A tricky part is the bracket that attaches to the tailgate. If you accidentally pull both bolts out, you'll likely get a headache because there's another panel in the tailgate. I noticed that when I loosened the second screw, the plate actually came loose. And the fact that I unscrewed that screw far enough to put a clamp on it made me nervous. So I put the first screw (new) through the bracket into the tailgate and then loosened the second screw just enough for the bracket to fit on top. This avoids what could potentially be a major annoyance. I'm not sure if the inner panel would have fallen into the tailgate, but I didn't want to find out. And I bet you don't either. i love this shop It's smooth and slow and I don't have to worry about slamming the back door. Gives the impression of a premium feature! I had to put this on all my previous trucks.
