Nice compact size that offers a surprising amount of space

I chose this case over the one with the button because I wanted to try using it as a holder for index cards which I had in different sizes and the flexibility needed using a thick set of large maps one day versus multiple mini maps the next. Pros: Enough space with a flap to easily stuff and still close securely. The leather is decent and even better now after I've conditioned it a bit. It's soft enough to bend and hold a variety of shapes other than cards. The stitching is even and strong, the stitching looks reliable. I think with care this package can throw a lot around. Cons: Mine had some tool marks on the inside of the valve - not too bad and didn't achieve a smooth finish. surface on the other side, so I let it be. The bottom corners stuck out a bit and there were some prickly threads. But once I cut off the sharp part and worked the skin, all the roughness leveled out. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase. It lacks precision in design, although the craftsmanship matches its function well. So if you're planning on giving this as a gift - I think it's best suited to those who want something that's durable, not bullshit, and durable for everyday practical use. I know some of the more down to earth members of my family were immediately interested when they saw me carrying this around, so I know what I'm getting them for Christmas!
