I just needed something louder than the built in rear monitor speakers I was using. I watch a lot of movies, online presentations, listen to music. When I plugged it in it sounded great and I liked having a physical volume control. It took a little longer to really appreciate the bass sound. This little thing makes itself felt physically. I can feel low notes in the table he's standing over. I continued to look around the house, searching for the source of some strange noises before realizing it was a faint noise from the host I was watching banging on his desk. While this speaker isn't the cheapest on the market, it's also affordable and offers value beyond its price. I am very happy with this speaker and would buy it again.
