I wanted this for old IDE drives that I needed to read and erase before throwing them away. Before I bought this I didn't understand the difference between IDE and SATA and had to buy the adapter advertised with this product ("often bought together"). The package contains the cables needed to connect the IDE data pins and power pins to this docking station. Just keep in mind that the docking process is not at all what is shown in the images of this device or the adapter on this page in Azamom. It's wired. Once you connect the original drive, you can view the contents of the drive on your PC using a USB connection.
