This is the second lumbar pillow I've bought for my office chair. While I like the height of this pillow better than the standard lumbar pillow, it still has two issues that remain with many variations of these pillows. This may not matter much if your chair's seat and back are one piece, but mine has separate seat and back sections with a gap between them. Before I put them on, this is an incredibly comfortable pillow. It has high quality memory foam and offers real support. I like the side stabilizers. The height allows me to recline fully and supports my shoulder blades and upper back. A regular lumbar pillow can push you away from the back of your chair, making it uncomfortable for you to lean back in your chair for that support. The strap is elastic. It's much wider and stiffer than the fragile, loose strap on my previous one, but it still flexes too much to hold it in place. The band must be made of non-stretchable material. By the end of yesterday (the first day I used it) it had wandered into the gap between the seat of my chair and the backrest, even with the strap as tight as I could. This morning I had to stretch a lot to get it out (that memory foam compresses really well).2. It only has one strap. No matter what material the band is made of, the band alone is not enough to hold it in place. Two horizontal straps would be better, but one vertical strap would be really secure. A loop of non-elastic vertical strap above and below the back of my chair keeps it at the correct height (that's a good 6 inches above the seat of my chair, not sitting on it). Then only the cross strap has to provide stability. I have a really cool laptop bag that has loops on all sides so you can attach the strap in different ways. I like having a vertical configuration instead of the traditional horizontal one. Why am I mentioning this? Because if a lumbar pillow that big had the same flexibility, it could fit in any chair and really stay in place. Perhaps two vertical straps, parallel or crossed, work best for some chairs. Perhaps two horizontal straps would suit a one-piece chair better. On the back of the pillow, you can place the loops a few inches from the edge so they are not visible after installation. When I recently decided to do this, I was in a hurry and the number of main lumbar pads was too large. I had never seen one as big as this one so it caught my attention but I kept looking and trying to see if any of the other big ones had better porters and almost gave up. The only reason I kept looking was because I had ordered something else that was under $35 and I needed to buy something else to get the free same day shipping. If I saw that on the back and it was advertised with flexible installation options I wouldn't even think to look any further even if it cost $10 more. I would buy it and it would be worth it.
