My 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L engine runs smoother and quieter - I wasn't expecting that. I installed it with a standard K&N off-road flat-panel air filter. The truck has a cat exhaust and used to be quite noisy at all rpm, growling below 2000 rpm and humming at highway speeds. Now the growl is there, albeit smoother, and the roar is mostly gone, so much more comfortable on the track. The engine idles and runs smoother, installation was very easy and the fit and finish is excellent.
