This bird feeder is very poorly shaped and almost impossible to assemble. I will never patronize the company that sold this product. I'm amazed they even put it up for sale and it wasn't cheap ($120). I have worked in the industrial tool business for many years in addition to graduating from a mechanical engineering school. In other words, I can fix things. If you don't have regular locksmiths or locksmith tools, you'll never assemble this piece of crap. Here's what I needed: a metal file, a set of taps and dies, a set of metric sockets, longer bolts than supplied, Loctite, and a few miscellaneous washers. It took me an hour and a half to assemble, while if made properly it should take around 15 minutes. If I hadn't altered it to assemble it I would have sent it back. Save yourself the trouble and just don't buy it. I first had to file the casting seam on the bowl mounting flange to install the washers. I then had to cut 2 of the 3 mounting holes for the bowl because they didn't line up with the flange. If I were to use the included screws I wouldn't be able to use the washers and only about 1/8" of the screw would thread into the base. If you lift it by the aluminum shell the cast iron base just comes loose and you rip the threaded bolt holes I couldn't have assembled this without good mechanical skills and the right tools.The average person should avoid this chinese junk and buy something else.
