My laptop's WiFi works fine, but I take it to places where I might have to resort to a wired connection. When I opened the package for it, I read the instructions for use. It could be shortened to 3 words: Plug it in. The attached screenshot shows that Windows 10 took a total of one second to install the new device! It works. i use it now It has a power light next to the first USB port, and the network port has the standard green and amber lights. It is powered by the USB port and can transmit it through 3 ports on the device to power other devices. But be smart - it can source a maximum total current of 900mA at 5V. Don't expect to be able to quickly charge 3 devices from a single USB port on your computer. I'll admit this is one of those reviews I hate when a new owner raves about a shiny device when it still smells of packaging. But I'm so impressed with how it installed and worked out of the box that I can't help it. I checked 3 USB ports by plugging in a flash drive. Immediate recognition and access to my files as expected. This little Javontec device is exactly what I wanted.
