Expensive Flexible plastic. These are high quality hard plastic holders/lids. I have several DeWALT 20V MAX XR batteries from 4aH to 8aH. They fit this bracket/mount perfectly. The batteries are locked into the mounts/mounts and you must press the release button on the battery to remove them in the same way you would remove them from the tool. I installed some batteries on my workbench so I have quick access to some batteries for small repairs around the house and my DeWALT handheld vacuum. Others that I use with batteries I keep in tool bags for my circular saw and saber saw to protect the battery contacts from damage or shorting out. Definitely worth the money.
