Review on Solar-Powered Auto Darkening Professional Welding Helmet W/Wide Lens & Adjustable Shade - DEKOPRO by James Mayberry

Took an embarrasing amount of time to figure out the headgear assembly

I mean, there's a reason I'm not a rocket scientist but I'm not exactly a dummy and it took me a half-hour to figure out how to mount the headgear. Even went on youtube to find a assembly video (which they didnt have for my model BTW).The included user manual is less than useless, doesnt even tell you how to remove the battery or even how to dismount the dimming panel - though that part wasnt all that complicated. Also, the dimming didnt work until I removed the battery and then reinserted it and the shade, sensitivity, and delay labels are impossible to see unless you literally get a illuminated magnifying glass. I made labels for each so I could see which is which because I know I'm not going to remember it a month from now.Having said all that:Its a really nice lightweight helmet with a great viewing area and the headgear harness lets you adjust it forward and the depth so the window is away from your face and not sitting on your nose and lips but still able to look down without much head tilt.I'm a little dubious about the durability but I guess we'll see. I'll update in a few months.

Pros
  • Beautiful product light weight but need better instructions on assembly and gadgets
Cons
  • Difficulty adjusting the shade
