Nice idea but awful smell

Cute book and love the concept, kids liked it a lot. But it smells so bad, I scrubbed them to try to get the smell off but could not, I had to end up throwing away. Every time anyone played with them it just smelled them and the are up. We have never had this happen where a book smelled so bad it was unusable. Bought two so it was a loss of money on both. Bummer it was a really cute product.
